Government & First Nations

VAST recognizes the important and complex role local governments and First Nations have in the success and health of our communities. We respectfully acknowledge our workplace is within the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Ktunaxa Nation. VAST aims to develop genuine and collaborative relationships with all levels of government.

VAST‘s role is to be a steward of the land, practicing our profession to the highest of standards and under the guidance of regulations and laws, while doing so with respect for people, the community, and nature itself.

We provide a range of technical, professional, and field services to governments and municipalities, including:

  • Forestry consultation
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Hydrology studies
  • Project management
  • Environmental permitting
  • Environmental field studies
  • Geomatics and surveying

We take an earnest, well-intentioned, and respectful approach to understanding and incorporating the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action # 92

Thanks to the diverse expertise of our 55+ in-house staff of scientists, engineers, technicians, and foresters, as well as our extensive professional network and local knowledge, VAST has emerged as a first-choice advisor, depended on to manage complex projects across multiple industries.
